Fixed my analytics in 5 minutes with Cursor
I forgot to install analytics on my landing pages. Again.
Instead of manually hunting through 50+ files to add tracking code, I let Cursor handle the entire mess. Here's what happened in this live troubleshooting session:
The problem: My landing page tool (built with Cursor) was missing native analytics. I had old, broken Plausible tracking scattered across multiple files that needed cleaning up.
The solution: I fed Cursor my new analytics script with one specific instruction: "Don't change the script." Then watched it automatically identify all the files, remove old tracking code, and install the new one across the entire project.
The result: 50 files updated and pushed to GitHub in minutes. My analytics started working immediately.
The key insight? When working with AI coding agents, be explicit about what NOT to change. Cursor wanted to modify my tracking script, which would have broken everything. A simple "don't change the script" prompt kept it focused on installation, not optimization.
This is exactly the kind of practical AI workflow I cover in my course - real problems, real solutions, no fluff.
