I paid $500 for garbage (and learned nothing)

Earlier this year, I hired a developer on UpWork for $500.

The project?

Setting up some custom analytics for one of my sites.

After hours of back-and-forth, missed deadlines, and "just one more revision," I got... nothing usable.

$500. Burned.

Meanwhile, sitting in my notes app: ideas for dozens of other tools, courses, and content I wanted to create. All gathering digital dust because I couldn't find them when I needed them.

You know that feeling when you KNOW you wrote something brilliant three months ago, but you can't remember where? Or you search for "productivity" and get 47 results with no way to find the good stuff?

That was me. Two problems:

  1. I couldn't organize my ideas properly (so I forgot I had this tool idea)
  2. I couldn't communicate what I wanted to a developer (so I wasted $500)

I fixed problem #1 with a simple note-taking system.

I fixed problem #2 by learning to write better prompts for AI tools.

Result?

I deployed custom analytics for my Vibe Coding project using a prompt-writing technique.

Then, I went right back to writing newsletters like this one using ideas from my vault.

This week, I'm offering both systems at 50% off:
